My wife and I stopped by the Mekong Plaza this past Saturday night for a bite to eat. Our target was the Wholly Grill since I've had a craving for Filipino food and lumpia especially. I got the barbecued pork skewers with the Atchara as a side, the lumpia dish, and my wife got the barbecue chicken. Everything exceeded our expectations, and they catered to us as if we were family. Steven was behind the counter, he was very knowledgeable, helpful and took excellent care of our needs. The owner even came out to our table to chat with us and was such a wonderful lady. I even got the fresh melon drink, which I highly recommend! All in all it was a very nice visit and meal. Couldn't have been happier!

Food selection isn't as wide as I expect however the grilled fish and meats platters are so good! Not too salty and always cooked to order!

This place is in Mekong Plaza. Very unassuming but everything was made fresh to order and tasted so authentic. You can tell the owner puts lots of love into her cooking and took care of us as if we were in her home kitchen! Will definitely be back!

Food is good here but everything is made to order so be prepared to wait. Lechon is offered on weekends. This is just a little fast food restaurant but the food is tasty and can satisfy your craving for Filipino food.

Want a Filipino taste that's real? Come to Wholly Grill! If you're craving authentic Filipino cuisine, drop by Wholly Grill inside Mekong Plaza. I've been here several times, and it has become my go-to spot whenever I miss traditional Filipino food or find myself shopping for Asian groceries at Mekong Supermarket. On our recent visit, we savored the crispy skin and tender meat of the lechon and enjoyed the Longsilog--a portmanteau of three Filipino words: Longganisa (Filipino sausage), Sinangag (fried rice), and Itlog (egg). Wholly Grill also offers standout dishes like Sisig paired with Atchara. Sisig has no direct English translation but can be described as "sizzling chopped meat." Traditionally made from pork (often the face, ears, and snout), it's seasoned with spices, lime, onions, and chili, and served on a sizzling plate. It's a dish so remarkable that celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain once called it the food that "will win the hearts and minds of the world as a whole." Meanwhile, Atchara, made from pickled unripe papaya, perfectly complements the savory goodness of Sisig. Growing up, I often had Atchara with meals, as my dad used to make jars of it using papayas from our backyard trees. Another must-try at Wholly Grill is the Lechon Kawali, served with the iconic Mang Tomas sauce. With its crispiness and juiciness, every bite is a burst of flavor and satisfaction. To fully satisfy my cravings, I never miss their delicious desserts like Puto Kutsinta (steamed rice cake), Suman (sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves), and cassava cake. Every visit to Wholly Grill is truly satisfying, and the affordable prices make it even better. I always look forward to coming back.

I've been here a few times when visiting Mesa. I really love the food here. Their green pickled papaya side dish(Atchara) is what I always get when ordering their meals. They are closed on Mondays. It's worth the trip to Mesa when buying groceries at Mekong Plaza.

Pancit Bihon, and Pork Adobo. Staple filipino foods and 2 of my favorites. The Panic Bihon was fresh and good, but I felt it was lacking some traditional flavor. It also had spaghetti style noodles mixed with the vermicelli glass noodles, which throws me off, almost canton style. Living in the Philippines I am very picky about authentic filipino food. Pork Adobo, flavorful and comforting to my soul. I know they looked at me funny when I said No rice with it, but I just didn't have room from Bahn Mi' a few hours earlier. I know, sacrilege in filipino community not to eat without rice. Mekong Market is a favorite place for me, but it is a drive from Phoenix so I don't get here as often. Great fix for my cravings, will return
